Frameless glazing
Requirement: Do not use frameless silicone jointed glazing in external locations.
Glazed shower screens
Requirement: Do not use glazed shower screens.
Low level glazing
Glazing below 1000 FFL is permitted however it must be fixed (not openable), fully framed Grade A safety glass in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards.

Clear float glass
GUIDE NOTE: Use clear laminated safety glass wherever possible.
Clear float glass may be used for re-glazing existing windows, subject to complaince with AS 1288.

Solar control glass
Solar control glass may be used in specific areas which are air conditioned, subject to DoE approval. refer to the EFSG Design Guide - DG / ECOLOGICALLY SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Toughened Glass should only be used in situations where the use of laminated safety class is not possible
Glazing plastics
Location: To the following areas:
Type: UVP high impact clear polycarbonate.
Thickness: 6mm minimum.
Mirrors
Material: Grade A safety glass, complying with AS 2208, and backed by a reflective vinyl film.
Thickness: To AS1288. Minimum thickness 6mm.
Mirror frames: Provide a clear anodised aluminium frame around the perimeter. Vertical joints between mirrors panels are to have splayed edges and a 3mm joint for expansion, filled with clear silicone.
