Ceramic Tiling

As per current NATSPEC except as follows:

1.1 Wet area walls

Ceramic tiles to wet area walls  must extend full height of the wall. Maximum tiling height is to be limited to 2400mm (expected average ceiling height in standardized toilet blocks and wet areas).

GUIDE NOTE: Delete fall, general nominated in NATSPEC Building Template and include the following:

Fall, general: 1:60 (where practicable)

3.9 Grouted and Sealed Joints

GUIDE NOTE: Delete face grouting nominated in NATSPEC Building Template and include the following:

Face grouting: Fill the joints solid and tool flush with face of square edge tile.  Clean off surplus grout.  Wash down when the grout has set.  When grout is dry, polish the surface with a clean cloth.

3.11 Completion
 

Tiles are to be clean and defect free at the time of project handover.

Cleaning
Refer to the tile manufacturer’s instructions and AS3958.1 for routine and special maintenance. Use only cleaning products and methods recommended by the tile manufacturer. A copy of the manufacturer’s cleaning recommendations is to be submitted to the School Principal.
